A very warm welcome to the Unterweg Hof!
The Unterweg Hof is a mountain farm in the heart of the Sarentino/Sarntal Valley and is run with love and dedication by the young farmer, Sepp, his wife Karin, and her sons. As well as the animals in the barn - cows, calves, sheep, pigs, hares, chickens, guinea pigs and cats - a good 6 hectares of steep mountain grassland, which needs to be mowed twice every summer, are also part of the farm. So that the valuable feed can be harvested for the winter, every year the cattle and sheep spend their summers on the Öttenbacher Alp.
The Unterweg Hof is a lovely holiday home for restful holidays in harmony with nature and provides young and old alike with a first-hand experience of agriculture and everyday life on the farm.
For families with children there are all kinds of play things here: a sand pit and two play houses. Moreover, the farmer and his wife are delighted if anyone wants to help out on the farm.

You’ll spend your holiday at the Unterweg Hof in your own, 110 m2 holiday apartment on the 1st floor of the farmhouse, which was only built in 2012. At the lofty heights of 1300 metres above sea level, you’ll enjoy the pleasant peace and quiet, fresh mountain air and crystal-clear drinking water from our own spring. From your balcony there are magnificent views of the Sarner Scharte and Karkofel mountains.
So that you have everything you could possibly need during your holiday in the Sarntal Valley, the apartment has enough space for between 2 and 8 people and has all modern comforts and amenities:

Towels, tea towels and bed linen are NOT included in the price. We will offer our own, home-made produce such as fresh spreads, yoghurt*, farmhouse butter*, cream cheese*, fresh cow’s milk*, eggs, juices, berries* and vegetables*. (*dependent on the season)
When you arrive we will be happy to collect you from the bus station in Sarnthein and take you back there when you leave.
Please note that smoking is forbidden in the apartment and in the vicinity of the farm buildings.

Discover the Sarntal Valley in the heart of South Tyrol!
The Sarntal Valley delights visitors all year round with a multitude of things to see and do. Mountain-lovers can explore the landscape on the many hiking trails or discover rewarding destinations such as the Öttenbacher Alp, Merano 2000, the Horseshoe Tour, the Legend Trail or the Sarner Scharte on challenging tours. On hot summer’s days it’s well worth taking a ride out by horse or a trip to the swimming baths in the main village of Sarnthein.
In winter the Unterweg Hof is really cosy. The central heating and stove make sure that it’s nice and snug in your holiday apartment. The early dusk means that you have plenty of time for evenings spent reading or playing games together.
And outside it’s never boring: the Reinswald ski resort and cross-country skiing track in the Pensertal Valley are great places to enjoy sporting activity in unspoilt natural surroundings. We also recommend ice skating in Sarnthein or on the frozen Lake Durnholz. And even hikers will find plenty to keep them happy in the wintry landscape: from the Unterweg Hof you can go snowshoeing or back-country skiing to the nearby Öttenbacher Alp or the Merano 2000 ski resort.
